More than 1,000 extensions running across Chile

A public institution present across Chile —from urban offices to remote stations— needed a single phone network for more than 1,000 extensions, each site on a different kind of link. We run it on miPBX, with security, redundancy and a 24/7 NOC. Anonymised success case.

The challenge: many sites, many links

The institution (name withheld) has sites from the north to the south of the country: urban offices on fibre, points on mobile internet and remote stations reachable only by satellite links. It needed all of them to work as a single internal network, securely and without drops, without forcing each site to change its connectivity.

How we solved it

Security and continuity

Traffic is encrypted where needed and traceable end to end. Difficult links —CGNAT, satellite— stop being a problem: encryption and fine session tuning keep the voice stable. And if something drops, failover and the NOC step in before the site notices.

The result

A single internal network by extension across every site in the country, managed from one place, that grows by adding sites without rebuilding anything. The institution stopped thinking about "each office's phones" and now has one national network that simply works.

Frequently asked questions

How do you handle sites with such different links?

Each site runs on its own link (fibre, mobile or satellite). For the tougher links we use SIP/TLS encryption, which keeps the voice stable even behind CGNAT or over satellite.

What happens if a site's link goes down?

Calls are diverted per the defined rules (to mobile or another site) and the NOC detects it 24/7, with a committed 15-minute response.

Is it secure for a public institution?

Yes. Traffic is encrypted where needed and traceable, and the service is run end to end.

Does the case identify the institution?

No. It is an anonymised success case; we don't publish the customer's name. Discretion is part of the service.

Have many sites across the country?

We show you how to connect all your sites into one network, with security and redundancy, over the links you already have.
